It’s a nervously exciting time to start thinking about what you’re going to pack in your hospital bag. If you’re like me, I couldn’t wait! My husband thought I was a bit crazy when I want to pack my bag 2 months in advance. You never know though right? I mean for all we know baby might decide to come home early?!?
Expect to be in the Hospital between 2-4 days. So here we have it…

My Go-To Hospital Bag Essentials:
1.) Birth Plan- My nurse laughed at me and said “honey you may have a plan but the baby might have another!” Its still great to have something in place, I believe. I was very head strong and almost all of my plan came through accordingly. Mind over Matter Ladies..
2.) 2 Nursing Bras and Nursing Tank Tops – These are a life saver, just unclip and your baby is ready to feed
3.) 4 Pairs Comfy Underwear- I recommend using Always Discreet, that way you don’t have to use big uncomfortable pads. I used these for two weeks and are so comfortable.
5.) Comfy Robe– I used this instead of changing into pajamas. It was just easier knowing that nurses are going to be doing checks on you throughout your stay.
6.)Loose Pajamas- You want to be as comfortable as possible after giving birth
7.) 2 Pairs of Sweat Pants- A change of clothes to go home in, I always like to bring a spare pair.
8.) Sweater and a T-Shirt– Hospitals can be cold
9.) Slides and Tennis Shoes- Depending on how swollen your feet are and the weather outside, Something easy to put on when you’re about to leave the Hospital.
10.)No-Slip Socks- For walking around your hospital room, Floors can be quite slippery.
11.) Books/ Magazine/Ipad-To keep you occupied- Although you’ll be quite busy once the baby arrives, you’ll have something to pass time for anyone staying with you.
12.)Earth Mama Perineal Spray– Keep you cool down there- The nurses usually have a care package for mamas but it was nice to have my own
13.) Earth Mama Nipple Balm- Your nipples will thank you
14.)Personal Toiletries- Shampoo/Conditioner/ body wash/toothpaste+brush- I couldn’t wait to jump in the shower after giving birth, Heaven on Earth!!!
15.) Snacks- There’s nothing better than having your own snacks on hand. I myself made sure to bring dates that helps ease labor pains. Also, I packed extra goodies for anybody coming to visit.
There you have it, my Mamas, this should help you as a guide to packing your bag. Feel free to print this and help you along the way! Congratulations and good luck! You are Beautiful!!!
